This year we had 140 campers from 38 high schools across the Dist rict\, 22 graduates at RYLA\, 30 counselors\, and 10 staff. Six of our members were in leadership roles with RYLA! And this represents the entr y point for what Youth Services wants to do. We have doubled the numbe r of Interactors our Club supports and the clubs are incredibly energize d. On May 8\, the Club will have an opportunity to hear from Lynn Luckow\ , District 5150 RYLA Director\, and participants in RYLA 2018 as well as understand more about the focus of Youth Services going forward. The Ro tary Youth Leadership Awards program\, RYLA\, is now in its 34th year. St arted by the Rotary Club of San Francisco as Camp Enterprise\, RYLA is no w a district-wide program offering a three-day leadership experience each spring to over 100 high school students. In the last four years\, the RY LA program has added new components to the program. The basic focus of RY LA’s three days of camp is to guide the campers in developing principles of citizenship\, leadership\, and community service through an interactiv e series of activities. RYLA now has youth staff that assists in deliveri ng the program. Beyond the three-day camp\, RYLA offers a year round prog ram where RYLA graduates and continue develop leadership skills through m onthly activities throughout the year.
