On September 12, 2019, Rotarians gathered together in North Beach for a cocktail launch party for an upcoming fundraising event, “Fund the Future”, a benefit for Rotary’s new Youth Action Leadership Program for Students (ALPS). Co-chairs John Mathers and Janine Padilla as well as Lynn Luckow, Vice President of Youth Leadership, hosted this cocktail event.

The cocktail party was a great success as guests listened to the current status of the Leadership Program from Connor Krone, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Secretary and Interact District Chair. Guests were also captivated by RYLA alumnus Ismail Azam's story on how his RYLA experience positively transformed his life.

In attendance were District Governor Sue Rokaw, President Casey Blair, Dan Joraanstad, Bob Hermann, Rhonda and Bill Poppen, Dora Dye, Anita Stangl, Cecile Chiquette, Past District Governor Ron Gin, Patrice Perillo, Liz Mark, and many others! Also present were committee members David Dye, Lisa Christian, Melissa Prandi, Sunny Singh, and Rich Swart.

Fund the Future is a fundraising event that benefits the new Rotary ALPS Program. This new Program is framed around The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership, representing more than three decades of leadership development research and practice pioneered by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner. Fund the Future will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 6 to 9PM at the Salesforce Tower on the 61st Floor in San Francisco. Save the date!
