In October 2018, Lisa Christian, Mark Enis, and Angela Warren joined our Club.
Lisa Christian joins us by transfer in membership. She first joined Rotary at the Westfield, New Jersey Club, and most recently has belonged to a Club in San Mateo. However in her new position with Community Housing Partnership, she is just blocks from our meeting. Lisa has a rich history of volunteering, including with the Chamber of Commerce, Nonprofit Council, and various youth-oriented groups. She and her husband live in Belmont; her husband is a member of the Palo Alto Club. Lisa hopes to work on projects to support the homeless as well as projects for youth development. Lisa’s sponsors are Anita Stangl, and Susan and John Dean. Her mentor is Flora Burke.

Mark Enis and his wife Amy moved to San Francisco from Mississippi. Mark is a software engineering consulate but is establishing a new business in real estate, The OpenKey Group. Mark mentioned in his application that he is looking for multi-generational fellowship, advancing his leadership skills, and feelings of accomplishment that come from helping others. Those three objectives are just what our Club is all about. Mark is interested in helping in community projects and has a special interest in mental health. Mark’s sponsor and mentor is Bill Poppen.

Angela Warren is the principal attorney for the Warren Law Firm which is focused on immigration. She also is a real estate investor. Angela has a daughter who lives in Panama City, where she has just been visiting…a new granddaughter is on the way, and congratulations to Angela! She looks forward to becoming involved with international projects. She is interested in meeting like-minded people who “believe that giving back is a prerequisite to a successful life.” Angela would also like to be involved with local, community based projects. Dan Joraanstad is her sponsor, and Bob Hermann is her mentor. As a footnote, remember to ask your business associates to come to Rotary. Angela and Dan have shared membership in a networking group, Business Network International, for 15 years. At one point a few years ago, Dan invited her to attend Rotary; she decided to take him up on the offer even after the passage of time.

We are the second oldest Club in Rotary, but we are constantly renewed by new people, bringing new talent and new ideas. If you have friends or associates whom you think would be a good match for our Club, please bring them to a meeting, a project, or a social event. For example on October 30, 6-8PM, we are having a social at the Golden Gate Tap Room; this is an easy and fun way to introduce people to your friends at Rotary.
