What's happening to our beloved San Francisco? The news focuses on issues like homelessness, trash on the streets, endless construction on Van Ness, and the high cost of living. It's enough to make you think that San Francisco has lost its way. We'll explore another side to the story in San Francisco Still Knows How, a special series of luncheon speakers.
These great speakers will address a few of the many ways in which San Francisco is leading the way forward:
- January 28, 2020: Rodney Fong, CEO of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, will discuss how he is organizing the business community to tackle the City's deepest problems and restore civic pride in our City by the Bay.
- February 4, 2020: Randall Scott, Executive Director of the Fisherman’s Wharf Community Benefit District, will tell us about programs that are improving Fisherman's Wharf and Union Square.
- February 11, 2020: David Lazar, Deputy Chief of the San Francisco Police Department will bring us up to date on how a newly-formed centralized structure is helping the SFPD lower the crime rate.
- February 18, 2020: Marc Johnson, board member of the San Francisco Beekeepers Association, will focus on how local beekeepers are fighting to turn around the decline in the bee population.
- March 3, 2020: Sunny Schwartz, co-founder of Five Keys, will tell us how the San Francisco County Jail launched a national movement with the first Charter School in the nation for incarcerated and post release adults.
- March 10, 2020: Hilary Ego, Waste Zero Specialist at Recology, will talk about San Francisco's industry-leading recycling and composting programs.
