District Governor Ron Gin will talk about how this year's Rotary International theme, "Rotary: Making a Difference", impacts our District and our Club.

DG Ron is a charter member of the Rotary Club of San Francisco Chinatown. He served as Club President in 2009-2010, when the Club won the Best Small Club in District 5150. He has also served as Assistant Governor for 2010-2012, Area Membership Coordinator for 2012-2013, District Programs Chair from 2013-2015, and Chief of Staff from 2015-2016. Ron is a Major Donor and Paul Harris Society member.

A San Francisco native, Ron enlisted in the US Army after high school. He was honorably discharged with the rank of E5 Specialist 5/Sergeant During his service, Ron received the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and National Defense Medal.

Ron returned to City College of San Francisco and received his AS degree in Radiologic Technology and worked as an X-ray tech specializing in CT and MRI scanning. He became the Chief Technologist, VP of Operations, then Regional Sales Manager. 

He completed his BS at San Francisco State University and received his MBA in finance from the College of Notre Dame in Belmont. Ron made a career change, becoming a Certified Financial Planner who has been with Morgan Stanley since May 1998.

Ron has two children, a new granddaughter, and enjoys hot rods, golf, cycling, tennis, and of course Rotary. His partner Liz is President Elect of the Rotary Club of San Francisco Chinatown.

This is a weekly membership meeting for The Rotary Club of San Francisco, open to all Rotarians, visiting Rotarians, prospective members and guests.
