The speaker at this year's World Wide Rotary Day program is Past Rotary International President Cliff Dochterman. It has been said that Cliff has spoken before more Rotary Clubs than anyone else. Whether that's true or not, Cliff is certainly one of the best speakers in the Rotary world. His talk at World Wide Rotary Day is sure to be engaging and inspiring.
Cliff's professional life included 40 years in higher education administration – 20 years each at the University of California in Berkeley and at the University of Pacific in Stockton, California. But most of us know him for his extensive Rotary volunteer work over the past 52 years. Since he joined Rotary in Berkeley in 1958, Cliff has served in almost every Rotary assignment in the world including Berkeley Rotary Club president (1963-64), District 5160 Governor, Rotary International Director, RI Vice President, Trustee and Chairman of The Rotary Foundation and chairman of virtually every Rotary committee. He served as the 84th President of Rotary International. As worldwide President of Rotary International, he selected the theme, “Real Happiness Is Helping Others.”
Rotarians and their guests are invited to attend the reception for the Consular Corps that begins at 11:00.
World Wide Rotary Day, launched in 1997, honors the San Francisco Consular Corps as the special guests of the Rotary Club of San Francisco. Typically, representatives from about 20 countries attend. The event also recognizes the many international service activities of the Rotary Club of San Francisco and the broad global impact of Rotary International. Past World Wide Rotary Day programs have featured several past presidents of Rotary International and as well as a variety of business leaders from the Bay Area. The presence of so many members of the San Francisco Consular Corps and Rotarians makes World Wide Rotary Day a very special occasion.

This is a weekly membership meeting for The Rotary Club of San Francisco, open to all Rotarians, visiting Rotarians, prospective members and guests.
