“Service Above Self” is not just a motto; it’s a day-to-day practice for Rotarians. When each of us joined Rotary, we joined to contribute to the lives of others and enrich our relationships with others. Below is a list of leadership and service opportunities for Rotarians to work with our partners and serve the community.

1. The Salvation Army
COVID-19 has impacted everyone, and the elderly and housebound adults in our community have been impacted more than most as they experience even more isolation this year. The special touch of a fresh holiday meal and a warm greeting will be extra special this year. Click on the following links to sign up to deliver Thanksgiving meals or Christmas meals. There is also a need for those of you fluent in Spanish to assist with Christmas client intake.

2. Heroes' Voices
Rick Harrell, a member of our Club, and Heroes’ Voices have touched the lives of thousands of veterans over the last seven years. So many Veterans were already struggling, and COVID-19 has made their lives even harder. On Veteran’s Day and throughout the year, please consider supporting Heroes’ Voices so they can continue to touch the lives of Veterans with the gift of music and get free guitars and computer tablets into the hands of veterans. You can make your donation here.

3. Catholic Charities
See here for ways to help Catholic Charities and serve the community

4. The Arc San Francisco
Deliver pre-packaged dinners to The Arc San Francisco clients who are experiencing food insecurity on either December 7 or December 21 or both.

Please consider the above opportunities to serve.
