On the evening of Tuesday, September 10, 2019, eight members of our Club met at Hoogasian Flowers to stuff diaper bags for expectant, homeless mothers. The diaper bags containing hygiene kits, clothing, towels, and blankets crocheted by Susan Dean were then distributed two days later at two baby showers organized by the San Francisco Homeless Prenatal Program (HPP).

Approximately 20 mothers-to-be attended the morning shower for Spanish-speaking moms-to-be and 11 more attended the afternoon shower for English-speaking moms-to-be. At the showers, the moms-to-be received boxes of diapers and a certificate from HPP recognizing their completion of a pre-natal program and parenting classes. There were drawings for a number of prizes including baby strollers and gift cards from our Club.

John Dean, Susan, and Susan's friend Quincy Yu volunteered at the morning shower and served breakfast to those attending. Susan crocheted over 20 blankets and recruited Quincy, who sewed another 40-plus flannel blankets.
