In a time when we must avoid large gatherings, one small group bravely came out to make a big difference. On Wednesday, March 11, 2020, John Dean and friend Quincy Yu, Kevin Leong, Tricia Tran and her friend Rachael Rhree, along with coordinator Emily Borland stuffed diaper bags for the Homeless Prenatal Program (HPP) in San Francisco. HPP is a non-profit providing prenatal care, newborn care, and parenting classes to expectant and new parents, most of whom are “housing challenged” or dealing with housing insecurity (“couch-surfing,” single-room occupancy hotel rooms, homeless shelters, transitional housing, etc.).

Later, Robin Azevedo joined the group, and together they enjoyed a tour of the HPP facility. The baby showers were cancelled, but expectant mothers will still get the bags filled with baby clothes, towels, and toiletries.
