On Saturday, October 19, 2019, Rotarians in District 5150 gathered in South San Francisco for a workshop on Membership, the Rotary Foundation, and Public Image. Yes, 3 sessions in one day! The presenters were PDG Ron Gin, the District's Membership Chair; PDG Jayne Hulbert, The Rotary Foundation Chair; and Josie McHale, the District's Public Image Chair.

The morning began with Josie's presentation on public image and brand impact on membership and foundation. Josie even showed the audience how easy it is to create a proper club logo. Next, PDG Jayne presented on the Rotary Foundation's impact on brand and membership and shared some resources from Rotary International's website. PDG Ron rounded out the morning and led a presentation on how to welcome and engage members.

After lunch, we looked at club culture and identified areas to revitalize our clubs. We also learned how to tell a People of Action story. For example, it is important when storytelling to describe the results of a Foundation-funded project or to include action photos of service projects rather than a bunch of people standing around smiling at the camera. Present from the Rotary Club of San Francisco were Dan Joraanstad, Bob Hermann, Dora Dye, David Dye, Angela Warren, John Dean, Bebo White, and Sunny Singh.

If you missed this workshop, it will repeat on February 29, 2020. For more information, go here.
