Dan Joraanstad, President of the San Francisco Rotary Foundation, introduced Lisa Christian (Development), Vice President of Youth Services, and Action Leadership Program with Students (ALPS) Program Manager Harmony Ma and awarded a grant to ALPS in the amount of $37,500. Both Lisa and Harmony were attending via Zoom. Both have contributed to the success of ALPS, now in its third year, by connecting students to successful professionals and implementing projects that help students to achieve leadership skills, confidence, and self-esteem. ALPS is a working model of change. For example, one particular project focuses on Asian American students and the sharing of their experiences with mental health issues.

Guest Speaker
Peter Logan introduced today's guest speaker, Rebecca Ennals. Rebecca has been on the staff of the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival since 2002 and Artistic Director since 2012. She took the audience through the Festival's history, including how the company thrived during the pandemic, with an eye toward creating Shakespeare that speaks to us now and in the years to come. President Mary thanked Rebecca and announced that 100 children would be inoculated against polio in her name.
