Today's Visiting Rotarians were Brandon Fleming from the University District Rotary Club in Seattle, Washington, Jean Schore from the Rotary Club of Eugene, Oregon, and Jesse Bowdle from the Rotary Club of Oakland. Maureen O'Shea (Governmental Relations | Retired) introduced her guest, Megan Mod. We also welcomed Troy Wilson and Yulanda Kwong from Cameron House and today's speaker - John Rothmann.

Peter Logan (Law: Insurance | Peter Logan Law Offices), member of the San Francisco Rotary Foundation, presented a $10,000 check to Cameron House to provide Comfort Kits to the clients whom they serve. Soon, Rotarians will help to fill these kits with needed personal items.
We had the chance to hear from Cameron House's Development Director Troy Wilson and Director of Social Services Yulanda Kwong. Yulanda told the story of how one of her clients and child were pushed into homelessness by the husband and father. Cameron House helped the client and child re-establish their lives. Another notable note is that Cameron House has a long history in San Francisco of serving the Chinese community going all the way back to 1874. The family-centered services of Cameron House focus on providing a safe and healthy community where people can learn, heal, and thrive.

- Rhonda Poppen (Grant Writing | GRANTdog) donated to celebrate her return from the Grant Professional Association Conference where she was a first-time speaker and to announce that she had hit the $9 million dollar mark in grants won, winning over 150 awards as a lead writer.
- Mary Liu (Real Estate: Sales | JM Real Estate Group) donated to celebrate her 34th wedding anniversary. To mark this occasion, she and her husband traveled to Bora Bora and Taha'a in French Polynesia to swim among manta rays and sharks and had an amazing time in paradise.
- David Dye (Management Consulting | Retired) donated to express gratitude for being able to attend today's meeting.
- Emily Borland (Engineering, Architecture, and Construction | Emily Borland Specifications) donated to celebrate the 15th anniversary of her business.
- Anita Stangl (Medical Services | Alliance for Smiles) donated to encourage everyone to register for the Friendsgiving on November 13, 2022 at the home of Dan Joraanstad (Financial Services: Advising | Retired) and Bob Hermann (Information Technology: Administration | Retired UCSF).
- Tim Hornbecker (Nonprofit Management | Retired, The Arc CA) donated to celebrate being married to Pat for 90 months and counting.
- Todd St. Vrain donated in honor of his parents' first date.
Guest SpeakerLarry Booth (Engineering: Mechanical | Frank M. Booth, Inc.) introduced today's guest speaker - Political Commentator John Rothmann - who joined us via Zoom. Mr. Rothmann has spoken to our Club several times in recent years. His shared perspectives on the state of our nation, our state, and our city were riveting and timely as today was Election Day. He stressed that we must maintain a healthy, two-party system to survive as a democracy. President Christopher thanked John Rothmann and announced that 100 children would be inoculated against polio in his name.
