Rotary Club of San Francisco
The Rotary Club of San Francisco Board of Directors met on May 31, 2022 via Zoom. President Mary Liu called the meeting to order at 12:02 PM. Stacey Poole, Secretary, recorded the minutes.
 
In attendance were President Mary, President-Elect Christopher Wiseman, Gary Dales, Sunny Singh, Lisa Christian, Ed Shenkan, Brian Lan, Nancy Graydon, Jeff Lerner, Bob Hermann, JT Forbus, and Stacey Poole, constituting a quorum. Absent was Miranti Ojong. Also in attendance was Dan Joraanstad, representing the San Francisco Rotary Foundation.
 
The Board reviewed and approved the Club Minutes of the April 26, 2022 Board meeting with a spelling correction. The Board also reviewed and approved the April 2022 Financial Statements. The Club remains strong financially from a liquidity position. However, there will be year-end event expenses and international conference expenses coming in, which will lower the surplus.
 
District Global Scholar
President-Elect Christopher requested approval of $1,771 from our 2022-2023 District Designated Funds (DDF) to fund the District Global Scholar. Note: All clubs in Rotary District 5150 are expected to contribute to fund this Global Scholar. A discussion followed, and the Board approved an invitation to the Global Scholar to visit our Club and explain the work to be done in order to help the Board determine the need and amount to be funded.
 
Honoring Dr. Elisa Stephens
Dr. Elisa Stephens, president of the Academy of Art University, has been very generous not only to our Club but to Rotary as a whole. The Board wanted to thank Dr. Stephens and approved both an honorary membership and a Paul Harris fellowship for her. 
 
Donation to Centennial Clubs' Booth
Vice President of International Service Ed Shenkan requested approval of a $250 donation to fund the booth of the Centennial Clubs at the Rotary International Convention in Houston on June 4-8, 2022. The Board approved this $250 donation.
 
New Members
Vice President of Membership Nancy Graydon presented Mary Fermi and Dalila Dynes for membership. Mary's sponsor is Margaret Miley. Dalila's sponsor is Darlene Wilson. The Board approved both Mary Fermi and Dalila Dynes.
 
Upcoming Events
Sunny Singh gave an update on the picnic to celebrate President Mary’s end of her term. The picnic will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Hellman Hollow Park in Golden Gate Park.

President Mary announced that the June 14, 2022 Club Luncheon would be a member appreciation event. At this meeting, the Club will also learn the results of the 2022 District 5150 Club Excellence Awards.

The Club meeting was adjourned at 1:19 PM.

President Mary Liu called the Board meeting to order at 1:20 PM. In attendance were President Mary, President-Elect Christopher Wiseman, Gary Dales, Sunny Singh, Lisa Christian, Ed Shenkan, Brian Lan, Nancy Graydon, Jeff Lerner, Bob Hermann, Casey Blair, JT Forbus, and Stacey Poole, constituting a quorum. Absent was Miranti Ojong. Also in attendance was Dan Joraanstad, representing the San Francisco Rotary Foundation.
 
The Board of Trustees reviewed and approved the April 26, 2022 Service minutes presented by Secretary Stacey Poole and the April 2022 financial statements presented by Treasurer Gary Dales. The Trustees discussed the ALPS Program and its budget.
 
2022-2023 Grant Requests
President-Elect Christopher presented to the Trustees the 2022-2023 grant requests as recommended by the Grants Review Committee. This slate of grant requests will now go before the San Francisco Rotary Foundation for consideration.
 
The meeting was adjourned at 2:08 PM.
