Managed by Lance Scott, Director of Arts, Recreation and Socialization at The Arc, the Monday Night Dinner Group is part of the “Friends Like Me” socialization program, where peers gather for group board games, movie nights, drama workshops, and a weekly dining club get together. The “Friends Like Me” program was established to help alleviate social isolation among people with autism and developmental disabilities.

On a rainy Monday evening, Jennifer Lee, Peter Logan, Leah Masuda, and Christopher Wisemanall Rotarians from our Club–volunteered to help prepare and serve dinner at The Arc, a community and support center for people with developmental disabilities. The meal served included honey-glazed ham, grilled chicken skewers, spinach salad with beets, toasted and buttered dinner rolls, scalloped potatoes, and steamed asparagus, broccoli, and carrots. The dessert was a layered chocolate fudge birthday cake to celebrate all April birthdays in the program.

If you missed this opportunity, there will be another opportunity to prepare and serve dinner at The Arc next month. Check www.sfrotary.com for the next opportunity and hope to see you there.
