It was another fine community service day. Dan Davies, John Dean, Susan Dean, Bob Hermann, Alisha Marfatia, Maureen O'Shea, and Christopher Wiseman of the Rotary Club of San Francisco each spent 2.5 hours at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank on Saturday, January 29, 2022. They were joined by other groups to pack 616 boxes of food onto four completely full pallets, totaling over 20,000 pounds of food. Just imagine the nourishing food of fruits and vegetables to be distributed to the thousands of needy in our communities.

As the pandemic continues longer than initially expected, the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank will be making some changes in the near future. One big change is moving to Illinois Street. The Illinois Warehouse will be the temporary home for the Home-Delivered Grocery Program. At the end of 2021, 80 million pounds of food were distributed to provide 184,000 meals per day.

If you missed today's service opportunity, please join us next time. The number of people who need this food has not declined, and our support is greatly needed. For more information on this program, please reach out to Maureen O’Shea or visit the SF Marin Food Bank website
