RotaCare:  Its Mission and How You Can Volunteer
Our Club's Foundation, the San Francisco Rotary Foundation, recently presented financial support to RotaCare Bay Area. This year, $11,000 was awarded to not only the Northern Peninsula but also to the Coastside Clinic.

September 2020 Highlights from the San Francisco Rotary Foundation
The Board of the San Francisco Rotary Foundation (SFRF) met on September 16, 2020. President Dan Joraanstad welcomed everyone. Below are some highlights from that meeting: 
 
Update on the 50/50 Campaign: Excitement and opportunity circulated around the fact that an announcement letter and pledge form were about to go to members via mail. This “snail mail” would be followed by an email blast to be sent the week after the letters were mailed. As of October 1, 2020, $57,000 in pledges toward the $100,000 goal had been received.

August 2020 Board Highlights
ROTARY CLUB OF SAN FRANCISCO
President JT Forbus called the Board meeting via Zoom to order at 4:01 p.m. on August 31, 2020. A quorum was present. Also in attendance was past president Rhonda Poppen.
 
CLUB ADMINISTRATION
Minutes:  The Board reviewed and approved the Minutes for July 28, 2020 prepared by Dora. 

Treasurer's Report:  Gary confirmed which members of the current Board were authorized to sign for the bank accounts that belong to our Club and would be named on the resolution to be submitted to the Bank. The Board approved the bank signers as amended. Gary discussed the state of the budget. President JT mentioned the costs to return to meeting at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel. Susan asked about membership and dues owed. The Board approved the Treasurer's Report as well as the 2020-2021 budget.

SERVICE PROJECT October 5, 2020:  Delivering Meals for The Arc San Francisco
Drivers needed to pick up pre-packaged meals at The Arc San Francisco and deliver to individual residences of Arc participants who are experiencing food insecurity. Exact directions will be provided when you pick up the meals. Hand delivery of meals must occur between 4 PM and 5:30 PM in advance of the Monday Night Dinner Club with Friends Like Me via Zoom to be held on the first and third Monday of each month.
 
E-MEETING October 6, 2020: Dr. Tatjana Kobb, Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the United Nations
The Rotary Club of San Francisco will celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the United Nations. Our guest speaker, Dr. Tatjana Kobb, appointed by Rotary International President Holger Knaack as a 2020-2021 Rotary International Representative at the United Nations headquarters in New York City, will discuss Rotary’s involvement in the formation of the U.N., Rotary‘s role in the past and the future, and her role as the Rotary Representative to the U.N. FIRST FIVE ROTARY CLUBS October 7, 2020: Second Collaborative Meeting
