On Tuesday, December 3, 2019, sixteen enthusiastic Rotarians and friends gathered at the Hoogasian Flowers warehouse on Seventh Street to pack diaper bags with baby clothes, towels, and toiletries for expectant mothers. This service project, coordinated by Emily Borland, provides new clothing and supplies to clients of the Homeless Prenatal Program (HPP) in San Francisco. HPP is a non-profit providing prenatal care, newborn care, and parenting classes to expectant and new parents, most of whom are “housing challenged” or dealing with housing insecurity (“couch-surfing,” single-room occupancy hotel rooms, homeless shelters, transitional housing, etc.). |
