ALPS:  Promoting Healthy Habits for Young Children
Having a safe space where young people may learn about the foundations of health and exercise is an important aspect of developing a healthy understanding of fitness and positive body image. This is what our latest group of ALPS leaders believes. In our current day and age of social media and competition/comparison-driven environments, our ALPS students have been striving to create a program that provides positive mentorship and role models as well as fun activities for elementary students.

Since July, these student leaders have been planning a collaborative exercise program with their local elementary school. They’ve learned to work under COVID-19 guidelines, event and spacing logistics, and equipment loans and donations in order to plan safe programming.

Thanksgiving at The Arc San Francisco: November 22 and 23, 2021
We live in a community in need this holiday, and here is one way we can safely make a difference and help The Arc San Francisco participants. The Rotary Club of San Francisco will deliver a meal to The Arc SF participants in need and food insecure this Thanksgiving. We’ll need volunteers to help package the meals on Monday, November 22, 2021 in the late afternoon and evening or deliver meals to participants in the Bay Area on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in the morning. This is the only Thanksgiving celebration for many of the people we serve that day. And they are most appreciative.
Wishing all a Happy Thanksgiving!
We are not meeting on November 23, 2021; our next meeting will be on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 starting at 12 noon. We wish you continued good health and peace as you gather with family and friends to celebrate Thanksgiving 2021.
