LUNCHEON MEETING HIGHLIGHTS August 3, 2021: Lucy Meyer, Acceptance Plus Inclusion Equals Progress
President Mary Liu (Real Estate: Sales | JM Real Estate Group) called the meeting to order at 12:15 PM.

In today's audience were the following special guests in person: San Francisco Supervisor for District 2, Catherine Stefani, and her legislative aide, Dominica Donovan. Additional guests attending in person included:  Larry Booth, Caryn Crump, Greg Grundstrom, and James Wong. Online were these guests: Esther Landau, Bridget Maxim, Charles Meyer, Elizabeth Owens, Cyril Unukevwere who joined us from Nigeria, and today's speaker — Lucy Meyer.

MEET A NEW MEMBER: Moustafa Harfoush
Moustafa Harfoush joined our Club on March 9, 2021. He is a real estate and estate-planning attorney. Moustafa loves traveling. He has a long list of domestic and international places to visit and can't wait for the pandemic to be behind us so that he can continue traveling and see more of the world. Moustafa joined our Club to meet like-minded people and to serve the community.

MEET A BOARD MEMBER: Brian Lan, Vice President of Public Relations and Communications
Brian Lan is the Senior Manager of Investor Relations at DocuSign where the IR team highlights industry trends and crafts key messages for its shareholders and analysts. He helps to develop the company's investor communication strategy.
 
Brian currently resides in South San Francisco with his wife, Rose Hoang, who works for a startup in San Francisco. They enjoy traveling and trying new places to eat. His hobbies include singing, writing, watching movies, and learning new things.

SERVICE PROJECT August 9, 2021: Delivering Meals for The Arc San Francisco
Drivers needed to pick up pre-packaged meals at The Arc San Francisco and deliver to individual residences of Arc participants who are experiencing food insecurity. Exact directions will be provided when you pick up the meals. Hand delivery of meals must occur between 4 PM and 5:30 PM in advance of the Monday Night Dinner Club with Friends Like Me via Zoom.

San Francisco’s dynamic tourism industry was especially hard hit during the Pandemic, declining almost 80% over 2019. However, as the City begins to reopen, there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Find out from Joe D’Alessandro, President and CEO of the San Francisco Travel Association when we’ll start to see conventions, meetings and international visitors returning to the City by the Bay. 
 
 
SERVICE PROJECT August 14, 2021:  Volunteering at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank
Join us to assemble and package food for distribution at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. The need for volunteers at the Food Bank continues to be great as our community recovers from the financial and food insecurities caused by COVID-19. Register early as there is a limit on the number of volunteers for safety reasons.

District Governor Danielle Lallement, founding member and Charter President of the Rotary Club of San Francisco Evening, will talk about how this year's Rotary international theme, Serve to Change Lives, impacts our District and our Club. DG Danielle's presentation is sure to be informative, inspiring, and fun.
 
 
ROTARY CLIMATE ACTION NETWORK  August 19, 2021:  Emily Olson, Circular Economy and Building a Sustainable World
This session will focus on how the circular economy is built on the principle that the life cycles of materials and resources can be preserved, extended, and ultimately given back to the supply chain once their original intended purpose has been served. Emily M. Olson, Director, Sustainability & Ambassador for Sustana Group, will offer examples on how Sustana has met consumer demand through innovative use of the renewable energy biogas and highlight relevant case studies. E-MEETING August 24, 2021:  Doug Lloyd, Mobility Trends and the Future of Transportation
