President Casey Blair (Financial Services: Private Trading | Feis Options) called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone at 12:15PM. Visiting Rotarians from as far away as Mongolia and Kentucky were introduced as well as guests of members.
On the evening of Tuesday, September 10, 2019, eight members of our Club met at Hoogasian Flowers to stuff diaper bags for expectant, homeless mothers. The diaper bags containing hygiene kits, clothing, towels, and blankets crocheted by Susan Dean were then distributed two days later at two baby showers organized by the San Francisco Homeless Prenatal Program (HPP).
The Board of the Rotary Club of San Francisco met on August 27, 2019; a quorum was present. In addition to the Board, Club member Susan Dean was present.
President Casey announced that Rotary International President Mark Maloney will be in San Francisco to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the signing of the UN Charter in June 2020 and plans to visit our Club then.
The Board reviewed and approved the minutes for July 30, 2019 prepared by Secretary Dora Dye.
San Francisco Fire Chief Nicholson was sworn in as the 26th Fire Chief of San Francisco on May 6, 2019. She will talk about her background, the Fire Department's history, and her goals for the Department.
Every October, the roar from the jets as the Blue Angels zip through San Francisco's sky is an unmistakable reminder that Fleet Week has arrived. Lewis Loeven, Executive Director of the San Francisco Fleet Week Association, will discuss the 2019 San Francisco Fleet Week and how its innovative programs help create a better San Francisco.

John Mathers, 2017-18 President, will offer a brief training to new and prospective members immediately following the regular luncheon meeting. The training will last about 30 minutes. Whether you are new or returning, everyone is welcome!
Join the Aquatic Park Stewards to clean up Aquatic Park. We will pick up debris such as cigarette butts, plastic, and other trash, and catalog the trash. After the clean-up, we will walk to Capurro's for food, fellowship, and fun.

Dr. Elisa Stephens, president of the Academy of Art University, will speak about the history of the university and the impact of art on our society. She will show examples of student art and discuss what opportunities are available to artists in San Francisco.
