DJ Peter Logan and The Golden Age of Rock 'n Roll
On March 18, 2021, Rotarians from the Rotary Club of San Francisco tuned in, listening to the sounds of “The Golden Age of Rock n’ Roll”. Celebrity DJ Peter “Drumhead” Logan spun disks and shared film clips from his broadcast studio, showcasing an all-star cast of artists. The playlist included Chuck Berry, The Beach Boys, The Supremes, Elvis Presley, The Ronettes, The Doors, The Eagles, The Beatles, Steve Miller Band and on to Huey Lewis & the News.

AlcatrazPresident JT Forbus (Accounting | Bogdan & Frasco) celebrated Jonas Salk's polio vaccine in 1953 and led us virtually to Alcatraz.

In today's audience were Olgha Kniezeva, Murrey Nelson, Mugdha Varpe, Zeenah Haddad, Allison Ettenger, Toni Heineman, Kate Hecht, David Stein, Adi Kulkarni, Andres Vera, Brian Muldoon, Shashank Bharill, Jean Petro, Salvador Farfan, Jeff Lerner and Rotarians Audrey Kearns and Richard Kalungi. Audrey is President-Elect of the Niles Rotary Club of Fremont, and Richard hails from the Rotary Club of Kampala South, District 9211 soon to become Districts 9213/9214. Also present was today's speaker, Dr. Diane Birnbaumer.

SERVICE PROJECT April 5, 2021:  Delivering Meals for The Arc San Francisco
Drivers needed to pick up pre-packaged meals at The Arc San Francisco and deliver to individual residences of Arc participants who are experiencing food insecurity. Exact directions will be provided when you pick up the meals. Hand delivery of meals must occur between 4 PM and 5:30 PM in advance of the Monday Night Dinner Club with Friends Like Me via Zoom to be held on the first and third Monday of each month.
 
E-MEETING April 6, 2021: Gary Kamiya, A Jaunt Through San Francisco
Rotarians and guests will join Gary Kamiya in a tour of San Francisco sites covered in his books and discover new parts of our City. Advanced registration required. Connection instructions will be provided immediately to all who register.
 
SERVICE PROJECT April 10, 2021: Catholic Charities and Backpacks for the Homeless
Please join us in assembling snacks and hygiene items and then stuffing them into Rotary-branded backpacks for the homeless. This project is sponsored by a grant from the Foundation of the Rotary Club of San Francisco.
 
E-MEETING April 13, 2021: Dr. Oral Moses, An Overview of African American Music 
Dr. Oral Moses, Professor Emeritus of Voice and Music Literature at Kennesaw State University near Atlanta, GA, will provide an overview of African American music, including the Negro spiritual, the Blues, jazz, gospel, and popular music. And he will provide some short musical selections. Advanced registration required. Connection instructions will be provided immediately to all who register.

Casey Fritz, a Recycling Programs Specialist, will take us through what being “better at the bin” means, how our recycling and composting programs work in the City with specific do’s and don’ts, and why reducing our waste is so important. SERVICE PROJECT April 24, 2021:  Volunteering with TogetherSF
Join our Club along with TogetherSF to assemble and package food for distribution to the San Francisco African American Faith-Based Coalition. Advanced registration is required.

Join us for a fun-filled and exciting evening of Family Feud. Battling for a cash prize of $1,000 to support a cause chosen by their team, it will be men vs. women from the Rotary Club of San Francisco on stage! Advanced registration required to be part of the audience.
