LUNCHEON MEETING HIGHLIGHTS December 10, 2019: Jeffrey Weisman
President Casey Blair (Financial Services: Private Trading | Feis Options) opened the last meeting of 2019 at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel. Our annual Holiday Party will be held at the Westin St. Francis Hotel on December 17. No luncheon meetings will be held on December 24 and December 31 due to the holidays.

Visiting Rotarians included: Rudolph Gesteiner, a 16-year member of the Rotary Club of Berne, Switzerland, who is in San Francisco for a convention of geophysicists; and Steve Ike from the Rotary Club of Fisherman’s Wharf.

Recap of the 2019 Holiday Party
Over 140 members, guests, and visiting Rotarians checked into the 2019 Holiday Party and Annual Meeting of the Rotary Club of San Francisco at the Westin St. Francis Hotel on December 17, 2019. They were all greeted by our check-in team consisting of Dora Dye, Club Secretary; Michael Petricca, Vice President Club Service; Tim Hornbecker, Past President; Gary Dales, Club Treasurer; and Stephanie Schmautz, Past President and Chair of the 2019 Holiday Party Committee. Michael greeted and directed members and guests to pick up their badge. Dora checked in who attended and handed out meal tickets and table assignments. Tim and Gary passed out programs and a ticket for a free toss at the Wine Toss.

Much of the technology we depend on today began as assistive solutions for people with disabilities. Ted Drake, Global Accessibility Leader at Intuit, explores what is being developed as assistive technology today. This will include personal sonar, remote sighted agents, dynamic indoor mapping, and personalization.

This meet-and-greet at the office of Lynn Luckow in Union Square is an opportunity for new and prospective members to get better acquainted with each other as well as with a few Club leaders and longer-term members. Light food and refreshments will be provided. The address is made available to everyone who RSVPs.

Club Social/Service Project with Catholic Charities: January 30, 2020
Please join us in preparing survival kits for those families who have lost their home in San Francisco. This project is sponsored by a grant from the Foundation of the Rotary Club of San Francisco. While assembling the kits, volunteers will have an opportunity to share food, drink, and fellowship.
