MEMBER PROFILE: Don Parachini
Don Parachini grew up duck hunting in the Sacramento Delta, near his native Antioch, and continued the sport throughout his adulthood until two years ago, when he was backed over by an off-road vehicle near Colusa, breaking his pelvis, scapula and 10 ribs. He was transported by helicopter to a hospital in Chico, where his pelvis was repaired with titanium screws. His wife, Mary Ann, moved into a Residence Inn nearby while Don spent four months on his back in the hospital and rehab before he could walk again. Now, after what he wryly calls “a novel experience,” Don describes himself as “recovered.”

Rotary Twilight Golf: October 11, 2018
Join The Rotary Club of San Francisco for a friendly round of golf and a chance to win our coveted Golf Trophy! Points are based on participation, not necessarily golf score, so all skill levels are welcome! Fellowship follows every outing. This is the final, championship round of this year's tournament. Tee time is 4:15.

SERVICE OPPORTUNITY October 24, 2018: Project Homeless Connect
Help Project Homeless Connect provide comprehensive services to more than 1,000 homeless people at their 72nd Community Day of Service at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Several different shifts are available. Deadline for registration is October 15.

Dan Devone, Emmy award-winning sportscaster, will talk about the intersection of sports and politics. He will discuss how sports has served as a platform for issues such as racism and nationalism.

KGO 810 radio talk show host and political commentator John Rothmann, one of our most popular speakers, will discuss his thoughts about the upcoming election and other current political events. John always welcomes our questions.

Join us at the Golden Gate Tap Room for a no-host fellowship event. Costumes encouraged. The Golden Gate Tap Room offers a variety of beverages and games. This event is open to all members and their guests, including prospective members.
