Report from the Tour at SFMOMA
Rotarians and guests enjoyed a private tour of highlights of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) on Thursday, August 30. We learned the difference between modern and contemporary art, with a focus on the contemporary artwork in the museum.

Eugene (Gene) Lee
Our Club has been blessed to have Eugene (Gene) Lee (Consulting-Technical Management, Retired) as a member for the past 42 years. He loved life and loved being a Rotarian. When he was no longer able to attend Rotary luncheons and events, members of our Club would visit him. During these visits, Gene would sometimes write a donation check or give bottles of wine to be used as a raffle or auction item. This way he was always part of us at our gatherings.

ROTARY LUNCHEON September 11, 2018: John O'Connor, Today's Parallels with Watergate
Attorney John D. O'Connor will speak to us about parallels and contrasts between Watergate and current issues, including the "Russian Collusion" investigation and James Comey's actions both before and after the 2016 election. John is a former federal prosecutor in San Francisco during the Watergate era and the Carter Administration, and was a colleague of current Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
 
Diaper Assembly for Homeless Prenatal Program: September 11, 2018
Join us at this service opportunity where club members and guests will stuff diaper bags with the supplies new moms need to help care for their babies. The bags will be distributed to pregnant women involved in Prenatal Classes at the Homeless Prenatal Project. Afterwards, we'll walk down the block to Mars Bar and Restaurant for food, fellowship, and fun.
 
Rotary Twilight Golf: September 13, 2018
Join The Rotary Club of San Francisco for a friendly round of golf and a chance to win our coveted Golf Trophy! Points are based on participation, not necessarily golf score, so all skill levels are welcome! Fellowship follows every outing. This is the final, championship event! Tee time is 4:15.
Baby Showers for Homeless Prenatal Program: September 13, 2018
Join us at one or both of the Baby Showers at the Homeless Prenatal Program where we will give expectant mothers diaper bags filled with supplies. The party for Spanish speakers starts at 10:30 AM, the party for English speakers starts at 1:00 PM.
 
 
SERVICE PROJECT September 15, 2018: Rotary Meadow Restoration
Get a little muddy and help Sutro Stewards weed and restore Rotary Meadow - a garden of native plants our Club planted at the summit of Mount Sutro in 2004. Friends and family (including children ten and older) are welcome. After all the work is done, we'll enjoy pizza, beer, and fellowship.
 
Dinner Club at The Arc: September 17, 2018
Enjoy the opportunity to make dinner and share it with new friends at The Arc. Rotarians are invited to join the fun at one dinner a month: come once, or make it a regular commitment! Open to family and friends who are over 18.
 
ROTARY LUNCHEON September 18, 2018: Randy Arnold, Barefoot Wines
Randy Arnold of Barefoot Winery will bring news and views of the wine industry and speak to concerns about the quality of wine coming out of Napa and Sonoma after the terrible fires of fall 2017. Randy has deep experience in the wine industry and has been the marketing manager at Barefoot Winery since the late 1980’s at a time when Worthy Cause marketing went from a philosophy to a strategy.

Join Rotarians and friends from across the Bay Area for a Rotary Tailgate and seats in a reserved section at the Cal/Oregon football game.

San Francisco Chronicle columnist Leah Garchik will talk to us about her experiences climbing up the hills and sliding down the chutes of San Francisco, geographically and socially.
 
Rotary Parade of Flags at SF Italian Heritage Day: October 7, 2018
Help us make Rotary's float be the largest float in the whole parade! We need hundreds of marchers to represent Rotary and carry the more than 200 flags of the countries and geographic territories that are part of the Rotary World. Those who prefer can ride in style in a motorized cable car. All Rotarians, Interactors, and Rotaractors are invited and all are encouraged to bring family and friends for this fun event.

State Senator Scott Wiener will give an overview of his 2018 bills that are now on the Governor’s desk. He will also elaborate on his housing legislation and the priorities he has planned for the 2019 legislative cycle.
