LUNCHEON MEETING MINUTES October 9, 2018: Scott Wiener
President Rhonda Poppen welcomed us all to a special luncheon with State Senator Scott Wiener as our guest speaker. Rhonda began the meeting by introducing visiting Rotarians from Concord, California; Reno, Nevada; and China. Other visitors included Mary Qian from Shen Zhou Event, Jeff Lee and pianist Ryan Ahern from Productions 17, and Yulla Nicolas and Yasmin Khalili from Alliance For Smiles.

Monday, October 15th was yet another fine "Monday Dinner Club" evening at The Arc, as Club members Gary Keener, Tim Hornbecker, and Peter Logan joined other volunteers, staff, and – most enjoyably – the clients.

KGO 810 radio talk show host and political commentator John Rothmann, one of our most popular speakers, will discuss his thoughts about the upcoming election and other current political events. John always welcomes our questions.
 
SERVICE OPPORTUNITY October 24, 2018: Project Homeless Connect
Help Project Homeless Connect provide comprehensive services to more than 1,000 homeless people at their 72nd Community Day of Service at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Several different shifts are available. Deadline for registration is October 15.
 
CLUB SOCIAL October 30, 2018: Mingle at Golden Gate Tap Room
Join us at the Golden Gate Tap Room for a no-host fellowship event. Costumes encouraged. The Golden Gate Tap Room offers a variety of beverages and games. This event is open to all members and their guests, including prospective members.
 
ROTARY LUNCHEON November 6, 2018: PDG Russ Ketron - Polio and TRF
Past District Governor Russ Ketron, a Polio survivor, will give us an update on the End Polio Now campaign and other key activities of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International (TRF).
 
ROTARY LUNCHEON November 13, 2018: Veterans Day Tribute
Club member Rick Harrell will lead a group of performers, including Veterans, in a selection of songs and poetry that recognize the challenges and contributions made by our Veterans. This is sure to be an inspiring event.
 
Thanksgiving at The Arc: November 20, 2018
The annual Thanksgiving Luncheon at The Arc of San Francisco is one of our most popular service projects. Come early to help prepare and serve lunch to hundreds of clients of The Arc: all people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. And stay long enough to enjoy that same lunch with your fellow Rotarians. This is the only Thanksgiving celebration for many of the people we serve that day. And they are most appreciative.
