MEET A BOARD MEMBER: Stacey Poole, Club Secretary
Stacey Poole is a family law attorney representing individuals in the divorce process. She has been in practice since 1999 and has been a Certified Family Law Specialist since 2008. She also drafts and reviews prenuptial agreements. Stacey has been married for over 20 years to Bobby. When not working, she enjoys watching TV, reading, sports, and traveling to Hawaii.
 
Stacey joined our Club on August 28, 2007. She had already served twice on our Board as Vice President of Club Service and Vice President of Membership. In July 2021, she began her term as Club Secretary.

Meet a Distinguished Rotarian:  Phyllis J. Nusz
Meet Past District Governor Phyllis J. Nusz, a Rotarian for 30 years. She served as the first woman elected officer and Club President of the North Stockton Rotary Club in 1997-1998 and as one of the first 50 women District Governors in Rotary International when she served as District Governor for Rotary International District 5220 in 2001-2002. Phyllis joined our Club on May 28, 2007 and served as The Rotary Foundation Chair.
 
A native Californian, Phyllis received both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Speech Communication with a minor in Choral Music from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. She also earned an Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL with a specialty in the field of Leadership Management Training and is known as a Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Scholar.

He will explain the common thread that runs through seemingly unrelated man-made disasters, and how he unravels it to tell stories that are informative, compelling. and possibly groundbreaking journalism. 
 
 
VOCATIONAL MEETING September 9, 2021: Fellowship and Business Networking
Join members of the Rotary Club of San Francisco and friends for vocational fellowship and business networking. This is an opportunity to share your occupation with your fellow Rotarians and how we can possibly support you. The evening includes a cash bar offering beverages and appetizers. SERVICE PROJECT September 13, 2021: Delivering Meals for The Arc San Francisco
Drivers needed to pick up pre-packaged meals at The Arc San Francisco and deliver to individual residences of Arc participants who are experiencing food insecurity. Exact directions will be provided when you pick up the meals. Hand delivery of meals must occur between 4 PM and 5:30 PM in advance of the Monday Night Dinner Club with Friends Like Me via Zoom to be held on the first and third Monday of each month.
 
ROTARY LUNCHEON September 14, 2021: Laurie Thomas and 2020 in the Rearview Mirror and the Road Ahead for the SF Restaurant Industry
Throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic, the San Francisco restaurant industry endured endless policy changes including closures, capacity limits, and mask enforcement, all while trying to keep their employees safe and trying to survive. Laurie Thomas will discuss the lessons and opportunities of the past 18 months and the path and challenges moving forward.
 
 
ROTARY CLIMATE ACTION NETWORK  September 16, 2021:  Andrea Wotan and Ambaree Majumder: Our Diet and the Climate Crisis
Ambaree MajumderAndrea WotanAndrea Wotan and Ambaree Majumder, Co-Chairs of the Plant-Rich Diet Task Force under the Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group (ESRAG), have a mission to inspire people around the world to shift to plant-rich diets to protect and preserve our planet. To that end, they will share tips for how to successfully experiment with building a plant-rich diet that works for you. Advanced registration required. SERVICE PROJECT September 17, 2021: Distributing Personal Safety Alarms to Asian Seniors
Volunteers (limited to six) needed to distribute personal safety alarms to 150 Asian Seniors. If you speak or know of someone who speaks Cantonese, Toisan, or Mandarin, that would be helpful but not required to volunteer. All volunteers are required to wear a facial mask covering both nose and mouth at all times.
 
 
SERVICE PROJECT September 18, 2021: Staffing Our Club's Exhibit Table at the 5th Annual Autumn Moon Festival
Volunteers are needed for the Rotary Club of San Francisco's exhibit table at the 5th Annual Autumn Moon Festival. Our exhibit table will be on 8th Avenue and Clement Street. There will be two shifts:  1st shift: 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  2nd shift:  1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. When you register, please indicate which shift you want in the Comment box.

John Mathers will tell us what he did to help create the RCAT Network and give us an overview of the climate crisis along with the issues and actions that will make a difference. 
 
 
SERVICE PROJECT September 25, 2021: Rotary Meadow Restoration
Come and enjoy nature, fresh air, and fellowship while helping Sutro Stewards weed and restore Rotary Meadow - a garden of native plants our Club planted at the summit of Mount Sutro in 2004. Participation is limited to a maximum of 20 members of our Club. Advanced registration is required.
