Volunteering at Project Homeless Connect
On October 24, 2018, Rotarians Ryan Overton (who chaired this event), Rhonda Poppen, Dan Joraanstad, Bob Hermann, and Tyler Sterk joined Project Homeless Connect to provide comprehensive services to more than 1,000 homeless people at their 72nd Community Day of Service. Project Homeless Connect is an organization that partners with the community at large, various San Francisco City and County agencies, and several businesses to provide an array of support services for homeless people in San Francisco.

Membership News: November 2018
I’m excited to announce that our Rotary Club of San Francisco is launching a new Corporate Membership program. Both for-profit companies and non-profit organizations that become sponsors of our Club can designate up to five individuals as individual Active Members. Our first two Corporate Members are both non-profits: Catholic Charities of San Francisco and San Francisco State University
 
In accordance with our Club Bylaws, I am pleased to announce that the Board has accepted the nomination of eleven new individual members, nine of whom are designees of our new Corporate Members.

Past District Governor Russ Ketron, a Polio survivor, will give us an update on the End Polio Now campaign and other key activities of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International (TRF).

Club member Rick Harrell will lead a group of performers, including Veterans, in a selection of songs and poetry that recognize the challenges and contributions made by our Veterans. This is sure to be an inspiring event.
 
Thanksgiving at The Arc: November 20, 2018
The annual Thanksgiving Luncheon at The Arc of San Francisco is one of our most popular service projects. Come early to help prepare and serve lunch to hundreds of clients of The Arc: all people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. And stay long enough to enjoy that same lunch with your fellow Rotarians. This is the only Thanksgiving celebration for many of the people we serve that day. And they are most appreciative.
 
CLUB SOCIAL November 28, 2018:  Ugly Sweater Potluck and Gift Exchange
Join your fellow Rotarians and friends for an ugly holiday sweater and white elephant gift exchange potluck. Prizes will be given for the ugliest holiday sweaters. This is a great opportunity to socialize with your fellow Rotarians and meet other members of our Club.
