Club Members Complete Master PRLS 4
On Saturday, October 12, 2019, District 5150 offered course No. 4 of the series of Master Potential Rotary Leaders Seminars (PRLS) designed by Rotarians to teach Rotarians skills and techniques as they prepare to assume leadership roles in their Clubs. Michael Ford and Richard Swart facilitated the class.
 
The course covered leadership development. Participants were given an opportunity to learn about and identify their own leadership style. They also learned how to communicate, how to lead and motivate volunteers, how to manage time, how to set goals, and how to establish a strategic plan in a Rotary club.

LUNCHEON MEETING MINUTES October 8, 2019: Lewis Loeven
President Casey Blair (Financial Services: Private Trading | Feis Options) welcomed 43 members and 7 guests to today’s Club luncheon. The guests included a visiting Rotarian from Germany; a visiting Rotarian from the Rotary Club of Palo Alto University; Past District Governor Mark Flegel from the Rotary Club of Menlo Park and his wife, Shirley, founder of the Rotary Club of Taipei Precious Love; Valentina Sacchi, a law student at the University of San Francisco and this year’s recipient of a Global Grant; and Chris Eggers and Tricia Tran who are both prospective members.

Treat yourself to dinner at South Beach Cafe and/or the movie Epiphany with Club members, family, and friends. Highly recommended by Club member Peter Lagarias, Epiphany tells the story of a young girl trying to connect with her father in a Greek sponge diving town in Florida. Please register for the dinner and purchase your movie tickets in advance.
 
ROTARY LUNCHEON October 22, 2019: Elisa Stephens, Academy of Art University
Dr. Elisa Stephens, president of the Academy of Art University, will speak about the history of the university and the impact of art on our society. She will show examples of student art and discuss what opportunities are available to artists in San Francisco.

All members – and especially new and prospective members – are encouraged to attend this informal meet-and-greet at the home of Dan Joraanstad and Bob Hermann in San Francisco. Light food and refreshments will be provided. Address provided to everyone who RSVPs.
