LUNCHEON MEETING MINUTES July 23, 2019: Buck Institute
President Casey Blair (Financial Services: Private Trading | Feis Options) opened the meeting by welcoming Jagpal Sran, President-elect of the Rotary Club of San Rafael Evening. She is visiting Rotary Clubs in the area in preparation for her upcoming term as president of her Club.
After a career in finance and accounting, Gary “Buck” Dales says he’s now “dedicating myself to Rotary.” On July 1, he began a two-year term as Treasurer on the Board of the Rotary Club of San Francisco.

Zak Franet, a government relations and public affairs professional as well as a dedicated advocate for youth experiencing homelessness, will speak about his path to recovery from his experience as a homeless youth with addiction.
Welcome to the Club: August 14, 2019
All members – and especially new and prospective members – are encouraged to attend this informal meet-and-greet at the home of Deborah Wakefield in San Francisco. Light food and refreshments will be provided. Address provided to everyone who RSVPs.
Dinner Club at The Arc: August 19, 2019
Enjoy the opportunity to make dinner and share it with new friends at The Arc. Rotarians are invited to join the fun at one dinner a month: come once, or make it a regular commitment! Open to family and friends who are over 17.

Your children are the future. If you change your parenting, you can change the world. Esther Wojcicki, founder and CEO of and an internationally known educator, will share her approach on how to raise successful children.
CLUB SOCIAL August 25, 2019: Giants vs. A's at Oakland
Take me out to the ball game! Come watch the San Francisco Giants take on the Oakland A’s and mingle with East Bay Rotarians at our joint social event. Tailgating begins at 11:00 AM in the Oakland Coliseum parking lot, and the game starts at 1:05 PM.

ROTARY LUNCHEON September 3, 2019:  Topher White, Rainforest Protection
Topher White, founder and CEO of Rainforest Connection, will speak on how to protect our rainforests using conservation technology that captures sound signatures of destructive activities.
SERVICE PROJECT September 7, 2019: Rotary Meadow Restoration
Get a little muddy and help Sutro Stewards weed and restore Rotary Meadow - a garden of native plants our Club planted at the summit of Mount Sutro in 2004. Friends and family (including children ten and older) are welcome. After all the work is done, we'll enjoy pizza, beer, and fellowship.

Zia, Leila Feb 2014Leila Zia, Principal Research Scientist and Head of the Research team at the Wikimedia Foundation, will define the role of Wikipedia today and describe it not only in terms of what it directly brings to its users and editors on site, but also in terms of the technological advancements it has made possible to an array of non-profit and for-profit organizations.
