Celebration Picnic for President Rhonda
Over 30 Rotarians and guests, half a dozen children, and two dogs joined President Rhonda Poppen at her celebration picnic on Saturday, June 22, 2019 in Sunnyside Playground and Park.

May 2019 Board Report
The May Board meeting was held on the evening of May 28, 2019 at the home of President Rhonda Poppen and Bill Poppen. Present were Rhonda Poppen, David Dye, Jim Bradley, Sacha Shashi, Scott Plakun, Lynn Luckow, JT Forbus, Casey Blair, Frank Yoke, Kathryn McCall (via phone conference), Gary Dales, and Dora Dye. Bill Poppen participated during the membership portion of the meeting. Secretary-elect Dora Dye recorded the minutes as Club Secretary Luis Moran was absent.

Heroes' Voices Presents The Soldier's Journey
Since 2015, our Club has sponsored the Heroes’ Voices poetry and music program annually. For those of you unfamiliar with Heroes’ Voices, it is a program that connects Veterans to each other and offers workshops to engage them in music and poetry as a means of relief from post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries. Heroes’ Voices also offers a program that provides Veterans with free guitars and free guitar lessons.

ROTARY LUNCHEON July 16, 2019: Sheri Greenawald, Merola Opera
Sheri Greenawald, artistic director of the Merola Opera Program, will provide a behind-the-scenes discussion of what it takes to become an opera star. She will talk about some of the rising opera stars and their upcoming performances, the kinds of challenges top opera performers face, and the technical issues that are at play in certain operas.
