E-MEETING Highlights for February 2, 2021: Sharon Sayles Belton, Dare to Dream: A Vision for Community Engagement
President JT Forbus (Accounting | Bogdan & Frasco) celebrated Rue Paul's Drag Race that was launched on this date (February 2) in 2009. He then ushered everyone virtually to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL where Super Bowl LV between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be played on February 7, 2021. David Dye (Management Consulting  | Retired) was singled out as the lone fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, and he expects the Chiefs to win another Super Bowl.

Rotary Global Grant Scholarship
The Rotary Global Grant Scholarship supports academic study in Rotary’s Areas of Focus. The scholarship is in the amount of $36,000.00 for graduate level academic study in a foreign country for the academic year starting Fall 2021. Scholarship funds may be used for travel, housing, tuition, books, supplies, and/or living expenses.
 
Rotary District 5150 seeks candidates with:
  • Excellent leadership skills and potential.
  • A proven record of success in their academic field or vocation.
  • A commitment to community service.
  • Well-defined and realistic goals.
  • Concrete ideas for advancing within their chosen field.
  • A serious interest in keeping a lifelong relationship with Rotary after the scholarship period.

Sharmin Bock, an Assistant District Attorney for Alameda County in charge of Special Operations and Policy Development and a leader on cutting edge criminal prosecutions including DNA cold cases and human exploitation and trafficking (HEAT), will discuss legal issues and prosecution in human trafficking. Advanced registration required.
