RotaCare:  Its Mission and How You Can Volunteer
Our Club's Foundation, the San Francisco Rotary Foundation, recently presented financial support to RotaCare Bay Area. This year, $7,500 was awarded to the Northern Peninsula Clinic. Started by Rotarians over 32 years ago, RotaCare has helped to fill the gap of healthcare services in over 10 medical ambulatory clinics. In the Bay Area, RotaCare continues to provide support to patients providing free healthcare to those who are underserved and uninsured.

LUNCHEON MEETING HIGHLIGHTS July 20, 2021: Dr. Todd "Bowtie" Jenkins; Moving from Diversity to Inclusion
President Mary Liu (Real Estate: Sales | JM Real Estate Group) began today's meeting with a reading of Rotary International's Statement on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She then talked about our Club's history and these milestones:
 
  • In 1909, the Rotary Club of San Francisco sponsored the next four Rotary Clubs to form: Oakland #3, Seattle #4, Los Angeles #5, and New York #6.
  • In 1911, the Rotary Club of San Francisco sponsored the first club outside of the United States in Dublin, Ireland.
  • Many of the 35,000 Rotary clubs in the world today can trace their roots back to Club #2.
  • The Rotary Club of San Francisco was one of the leaders in the movement to open Rotary membership to women.  
  • In 1987, women were admitted to the Rotary Club of San Francisco.
  • After 113 years of our Club’s founding, Mary Liu became the 7th Female Club President and the 1st Asian American President of the Rotary Club of San Francisco.

The Vocational Service Committee of the Rotary Club of San Francisco and SCORE San Francisco present to you an afternoon online workshop on social enterprises, benefit corporations, and nonprofits. SERVICE PROJECT August 9, 2021: Delivering Meals for The Arc San Francisco
Drivers needed to pick up pre-packaged meals at The Arc San Francisco and deliver to individual residences of Arc participants who are experiencing food insecurity. Exact directions will be provided when you pick up the meals. Hand delivery of meals must occur between 4 PM and 5:30 PM in advance of the Monday Night Dinner Club with Friends Like Me via Zoom.
 
ROTARY LUNCHEON August 10, 2021: Joe D’Alessandro; San Francisco’s Resilient Tourism Industry: When Is It Coming Back?
San Francisco’s dynamic tourism industry was especially hard hit during the Pandemic, declining almost 80% over 2019. However, as the City begins to reopen, there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Find out from Joe D’Alessandro, President and CEO of the San Francisco Travel Association when we’ll start to see conventions, meetings and international visitors returning to the City by the Bay. 
 
 
SERVICE PROJECT August 14, 2021:  Volunteering at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank
Join us to assemble and package food for distribution at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. The need for volunteers at the Food Bank continues to be great as our community recovers from the financial and food insecurities caused by COVID-19. Register early as there is a limit on the number of volunteers for safety reasons.

DG Danielle's presentation is sure to be informative, inspiring, and fun.
 
 
E-MEETING August 24, 2021:  Doug Lloyd, Mobility Trends and the Future of Transportation
