Correction on February 2021 Board Highlights
After the publication of these Board highlights in the April 4, 2021 issue of Grindings, we discovered an error and provide the correct language here:
 
ROTARY SERVICE, INC.
Adding Foundation member to our Board. The Board approved the addition of the president of the San Francisco Rotary Foundation to the Board of Rotary Service, Inc. The SFRF president would be a non-voting member on our Board. 
E-MEETING Highlights for April 6, 2021: Gary Kamiya, A Jaunt Through San Francisco
President-Elect Mary Liu (Real Estate: Sales | JM Real Estate Group | Vanguard Properties) led today's meeting and welcomed everyone.

E-MEETING April 13, 2021: Dr. Oral Moses, An Overview of African American Music 
Dr. Oral Moses, Professor Emeritus of Voice and Music Literature at Kennesaw State University near Atlanta, GA, will provide an overview of African American music, including the Negro spiritual, the Blues, jazz, gospel, and popular music. ROTARY CLIMATE ACTION NETWORK  April 15, 2021:  Understanding your Carbon Footprint 
40% of US GHG emissions come from five basic household activities we do every day: electricity use, home heating, transportation, food and waste. There are solutions for all five where you can take action, reduce your impact on the environment, and even save money.  Join us in April to understand more about your carbon footprint and how you, and your club, can use this platform to uncover solutions that will impact the climate crisis. Advanced registration required. SERVICE PROJECT April 17, 2021: Catholic Charities and Backpacks for the Homeless
Please join us in assembling snacks and hygiene items and then stuffing them into Rotary-branded backpacks for the homeless. This project is sponsored by a grant from the Foundation of the Rotary Club of San Francisco.
 
SERVICE PROJECT April 19, 2021: Delivering Meals for The Arc San Francisco
Drivers needed to pick up pre-packaged meals at The Arc San Francisco and deliver to individual residences of Arc participants who are experiencing food insecurity. Exact directions will be provided when you pick up the meals. Hand delivery of meals must occur between 4 PM and 5:30 PM in advance of the Monday Night Dinner Club with Friends Like Me via Zoom to be held on the first and third Monday of each month.
 
E-MEETING April 20, 2021: Casey Fritz, Better at the Bin with Recology
Casey Fritz, a Recycling Programs Specialist, will take us through what being “better at the bin” means, how our recycling and composting programs work in the City with specific do’s and don’ts, and why reducing our waste is so important. Advanced registration required. Connection instructions will be provided immediately to all who register.
 
SERVICE PROJECT April 24, 2021:  Volunteering with TogetherSF
Join our Club along with TogetherSF to assemble and package food for distribution to the San Francisco African American Faith-Based Coalition. Advanced registration is required.
 
 
CLUB SOCIAL April 29, 2021: Family Feud
Join us for a fun-filled and exciting evening of Family Feud. Battling for a cash prize of $1,000 to support a cause chosen by their team, it will be men vs. women from the Rotary Club of San Francisco on stage! Advanced registration required to be part of the audience. E-MEETING May 4, 2021: Rodrigo Duran and La Cultura Cura - Leveraging our cultural assets to heal our community 
Carnaval San Francisco (CSF) curates educational platforms and creates artistic spaces of revelry that heal, strengthen, and unite disenfranchised communities of color through the power of art and culture. Rodrigo Durán is CSF’s Festival Director since 2016 and will share some safe spaces he has created for the Latinx community to celebrate their cultures and languages. Advanced registration required. E-MEETING May 11, 2021: Christopher Pollock, Golden Gate Park and its 150 Years of History
Christopher Pollock, Historian-in-Residence for the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department and author, shares with us the history and features of our beloved Golden Gate Park as well as the Park's recent 150th anniversary. Advanced registration required. SERVICE PROJECT May 11, 2021: Baby Wipes Assembly for Homeless Prenatal Program
Join us at this service opportunity to bag baby wipes for giveaway to clients of the Homeless Prenatal Program. We will meet at an open-air warehouse to allow social distancing while assembling the baby wipes. Participation is limited to FIFTEEN people, so sign up early. Masks are required; double masks are preferred.
