ALPS Rotary LogoSupport youth leadership by joining the Action Leadership Program with Students (ALPS) for virtual leadership coach training! Leadership Coaches are one of the most important elements in making the ALPS initiative successful! Coaches work closely with students, guiding and encouraging their projects, using The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership as a foundational framework. Coaches listen, and highlight and foster collaboration, positive leadership behavior, thoughtful risk-taking, and learning. Many of our youth say their projects would not have been possible without their coach!

This first session of a two-part training will prepare Rotarians to act as facilitators and leadership coaches for youth participants in ALPS. Rotarians will gain a foundation knowledge of the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership and how to work with young people. Part two of the training will be scheduled later based on availability.

Leadership coaches will work with high school-aged youth to provide guidance and facilitation for a youth-led community change project. Project duration varies by project, and facilitation sessions are scheduled by youth and adults together.

REGISTRATION: Please email Harmony Ma, ALPS Program Manager to register and for Zoom links and training materials.

Each training will be limited to 8 individuals. Registration will be open up to 24 hours prior to training, if space is available. If you cannot make this date and are interested in becoming a leadership coach or otherwise involved with ALPS, please email Harmony.

ALPS is a youth service sponsored by the Rotary Club of San Francisco that aims to empower youth with the confidence and tools to successfully lead change projects in their schools, communities, and world. Programs prepare youth to be ‘service above self’ leaders for a civil society and healthy communities. For more information, please email Harmony.
