The past few years have seen startling changes in San Francisco – be it new towers rising near the Embarcadero to six-story residential buildings popping up on neighborhood streets. The current pandemic has changed things even more. John King, The San Francisco Chronicle's urban design critic since 2001, surveys the landscape of shared streets and dining parklets, and the concerns that they represent, and speculates on what changes might come next.

John has written about everything from sea level rise to the growth of Rincon Hill and the design of homeless navigation centers. He is also the author of two books on the City's architecture and an honorary member of the American Society of Landscape Architects.

This is a regular membership meeting of The Rotary Club of San Francisco, open to all Rotarians, visiting Rotarians, prospective members, and guests. The meeting is free, but you must register by 11 AM on Tuesday, September 15, 2020. Connection information will be provided only to those who register by the above deadline. For technical support, please contact Secretary Dora Dye before 10:30 AM on September 15, 2020.
