Our environment is heating up! We see it all around us, no matter where we live. Efforts to mitigate and adapt are not moving fast enough to address this crisis. Did you know that over the next few years worldwide fossil fuel subsidies are planned to be four times (4X) those for renewables. As citizens and Rotarians we need to take action NOW to regulate the threat to our species.

This special Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL) presentation is intended to engage the RCAT Network in advocating for national climate legislation. Our presenters are Citizens’ Climate Education volunteers specializing in presentations to grassroots community organizations across North America.

Irene YangIrene Yang grew up in the oil-and-gas capital of the US: Houston, Texas. She decided not to become a petroleum engineer to the chagrin of her parents, and instead, studied electrical engineering at Caltech. After moving to the Bay Area, she fell in love with being able to bike or take the train to get to work every day. She believes people will make better choices when they have the right incentives and opportunities. She has been an environmental advocate for a long time and joined CCL's Motivational Presentation Project as a presenter to support climate-positive legislation.

Julie GaudinJulie Gaudin has a Msc in Management from ESSEC, a French Business School, and a background in consulting for energy and utilities clients. She started to raise awareness around climate change through grassroot outreach in France by facilitating climate collage workshops. She joined CCL and the Motivational Presentation Project as a producer upon moving to the United States to campaign to put a price on carbon and empower people not only to support the change but to be the change.
