District Governor Gary ChowDistrict Governor Gary Chow will talk about how this year's Rotary International theme, Imagine Rotary, impacts our District and our Club.

As a retired public health/patient educator with the American Cancer Society and Kaiser Permanente, DG Gary has had a distinguished career in public health and community service. On the local level, he has served on the Boards of The American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, US Selective Service, and California Public Health Association and was appointed to be a Napa Public Access Cable TV Commissioner. On the National level, he has served on advisory committees with the American Public Health Association, Lung Cancer Alliance, National Cancer Institute, and the United Ostomy Association of America.

DG Gary joined the Rotary Club of South San Francisco in 2009. He has served in many capacities with his club, including Membership Chair, Programs Chair, Foundation Chair, Board member, and Club President. On the District level, he has served as District Service Programs Chair, Assistant Governor, District TRF Annual Fund Chair, EREY/Paul Harris Society Chairs, District Chief of Staff, and is the District 5150 Governor in 2022-23.

He also lends his expertise as a member of the Health and Wellness Rotary Action Group and Polio Survivor Rotary Action Group. DG Gary is also a member of the International Fellowship of Rotary Educators and the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Rotary Action Group. He is a member of the Paul Harris Society, Bequest Society, White Hat Society, PolioPlus Society and is a Benefactor and Major Donor. 

When he is not busy volunteering, DG Gary enjoys his family, attending musical theater, recreational shopping, and pretty much anything that has to do with food.

This is a regular membership meeting of the Rotary Club of San Francisco, open to all Rotarians, visiting Rotarians, prospective members, and guests.

For Club members and visitors, there is a $45 charge for in-person attendance (which covers the cost of your lunch). NOTE: For those who wish to participate via Zoom, there is no charge to attend this meeting.

For in-person attendees: Please note that once Past President Mary Liu provides the headcount to the Hotel Nikko on the Friday before our Tuesday meeting, we will be billed for that count regardless of whether you show or not. Therefore, it is important to let her know if you are unable to attend after registering, but no later than Sunday night. If you are a no-show without notifying her ahead of time, the Club will be billed the cost of the meal and will have to pass the cost down to you. We hope to not have to do this.

Parking: If you are driving to the Hotel Nikko for this meeting, please leave your car with the Hotel Nikko valet. Pick up a validation sticker available at our check-in table. The discounted parking is $17.50 for three hours.

If you do not feel well, please do not attend in person. Masks for those attending in person are optional during the event. We recommend that fully vaccinated individuals wear masks when the risk may be high.
