Personal Safety AlarmVolunteers (limited to four) needed to distribute personal safety alarms to 300 Asian Seniors in collaboration with the Rotary Club of San Francisco Chinatown, the Rotary Club of Oakland, Asians United, the Oakland Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the Oakland Police Department, and the FBI Special Task Force against Asian Hate.

Tasks include:

  • Taking alarm out of the box and pulling the plastic tab from the battery compartment with pliers.
  • Distributing the alarms and demonstrating to seniors how to use the alarm.
  • Distributing instructions and safety tip flyer.

If you speak or know of someone who speaks Cantonese, Toisan, or Mandarin, that would be helpful. (NOTE: You do not need to speak Chinese to volunteer.)

All volunteers are required to wear a facial mask covering both nose and mouth at all times. Please do not come if you’re not feeling well, or have been exposed to someone with COVID symptoms.

Please contact Mary Liu or call her at 415.378.5625 should questions arise before or during the day of service.
