The Vocational Service Committee of the Rotary Club of San Francisco and SCORE San Francisco present to you an afternoon online workshop on social enterprises, benefit corporations, and nonprofits. Come and learn:
- What is social entrepreneurship and what do social entrepreneurs do?
- What are some examples of social enterprises?
- What is the difference among nonprofits, B-corps, California Benefit Corporations?
- How to consider your options: for-profit vs non-profit; incorporate or not?
- How to finance and market your social enterprise?
- What are the elements of a business plan for a social enterprise?

The speaker is Professor Emeritus Robert Girling. He received his Ph.D. from Stanford University and has taught and consulted in 20 different countries. He is a social entrepreneur and has served on the boards of several nonprofits and is a co-founder of the Sustainable Enterprise Conference series. Prof. Girling is the author of The Good Company (2012) and The Good Company: Sustainability in Hospitality, Tourism and Wine (2015).
